This notice explains what personal information MDMX collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
MDMX is a trading name of Michael Maybury, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the "data controller" for information collected through this website.
If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle your information, contact us at michael@mdmx.uk.
What information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. That is usually:
- Booking a call — when you book through our scheduling tool, we receive your name, email address, phone number, and any details you add about your business or what you need help with.
- Contacting us directly — if you call or email us, we hold your contact details and the content of that conversation.
- Website usage — basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited, collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and performance.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a call — because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
- To provide our services if you become a client — because it is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep records and run our business — for our legitimate interests in operating, improving and securing our services.
- To meet legal obligations — such as tax and accounting requirements.
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your consent.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run this website and our booking process. These act on our behalf and only handle your information for the purposes we set:
- Calendly — scheduling and managing calls.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Google — email and business tools.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where information is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent contractual protections.
We may also share information where we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep it
If you enquire but do not become a client, we keep your details for up to two years, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep records for the duration of our work together and for up to six years afterwards, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our scheduling tool may set cookies necessary for the booking process to function. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
- Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these, email michael@mdmx.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
